How do I connect my computer to my PS3?

How do i connect my ps3 to the internet using my wireless internet card (Wataniya HSPDA) and my computer?

  • I recently bought a PS3 and connected it directly to the computer via ethernet cable. It worked right out of the box and i was able to download game and system updates. But recently I have been getting an error saying, "An error occurred during communication with the server. This is a DNS error.(80710102)" Keep in mind that it was working before. I've enabled ICS on my computer. i've searched online for similar situations and tried applying all their solutions. Most of which require a router or modem which isnt an option for me. My Materials: 1 Laptop HP windows Vista 1 Ethernet cable 1 PS3 1 Internet card (Wataniya HSPDA 7.2Mbps) PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Answer:

So if you have an HP laptop and the ethernet port is connected to your PS3 I'm going to assume that your HP is connected to the internet via its built-in wireless - if that's the case the PS3 also has built-in wireless and would eliminate the non-standard setup you're now dealing with.
