Cant connect to linksys router with new computer (windows 7)?

Got my new computer home yesterday and i cant connect to my wireless router at all, yet i can connect to my mobile phones network with wireless tethering. ive done a factory reset of my router so i dont think its that as my phone, my laptop and my dads phone can find it, just not my new desktop thanks (i have a advent 1401 and my router is a linksys WAG54G2)

U need to install new drivers for your new computer's wifi networking. Go to your computer manufacturer's website and download the newest drivers for your version of Windows. If u are using a networking card that u installed rather than an onboard one, then go to the card manufacturer's website instead.

Does your computer have a wireless NIC? If you don't have a wireless NIC you'll never be able to connect to the wireless device. If everything else works, your PC should too. I think your'e missing something. If you could explain where the problem goes wrong to further help us!
