What is Uploading and Downloading in Utorrent?

Why is my computer uploading around 50kb/s when utorrent is only uploading 5kb/s?

• my comptuer is uploading around 20 -100 kb/s and it goes up and down all the time when all i have that is uploading is utorrent and they are capped at 1kb/s upload although they go to like 3kb/s sometimes but still no where near 50+ kb/s? any thoughts? oh and also a simple program that shows me what my network is downloading / uploading or the programs its using ... remember simple... thanks :D so my uploads should be around 9kb/s 3 torrents uploading around 3kb/s but somehow its uploading 50kb/s this is chewing up my optus fusion plan !! it also only happens when utorrent is open? so why is utorrent using 40kb/s more then it needs to?

  I agree with "Yogesh Khurana" check those and if that does not work maybe your port is wrong. How do you know: 1.look at the bottom right in u torrent right above the time when utorrent is infull-screenn. 2.If it's red than its most likely blocked (dont ask me why, i dont know never had the problem) 3.If its a triangle yellow with "!"in the center than the port is wrong and you speed is limited. 4.If its green than everything is ok and you moast likely have a bull-sh*t internet supplyer!
