How do I setup Xbox live?

How do i setup my internet to stay active after i disconnect it from the desktop to connect to xbox live?

  • i want to make it so that wen i unplug the modem and plug it into my xbox 360 i can connect to xbox live and not have to deal with the fuses of almost throwing the freaking thing across the room lol...But whenever i unplug the computer from the modem it disconnects it from the internet and i am unable to connect to xbox live...HELP Please im tired of getting frustrated

    get a router and plug them both in all the time. This will keep the IP address problems away

or you could try to power cycle the modem just unplug it for a few and plug it back in

Most modems don't respond well to being reconnected like that. You would really have to turn the modem off each time you switch. The real way to do this is to get a router. Run the ethernet wire from the modem to the WAN router port and then the two devices from the four router LAN ports. The user guide for the router will give you the step by steps.
