When i connect my laptop to wireless modem internet works and when i connect?

my laptop to ordinary modem ( broadband) it doesnt work . whats wrong ?

The modem that was given to you by your service is the only one that is going to work for you. I assume you have a modem from some other service. Don't try to use that one. Actually the modem that works for you probably also has an ethernet LAN port that should connect to the LAN port on your computer. That should work, assuming that the LAN port on your computer is not turned off.
