Message could not be sent due to a connection problem?

• right well, i just got my laptop back from the shop where they was repairing it (battery was faulty) and when i got it back i couldnt go on the internet, before i sent it to get repaired it worked fine.. the message im getting is "This computer has limited or no connectivity", ive tried to restart it many times but its still the same. i know its not poor connection because im using my sisters laptop to write this and i havent moved positions. pleaseplease can someone tell me how i can solve this problem? oh and the internet im trying to gain acces to is like, well its a university which provides free internet for the houses close to it and i live in the house close to it so yeah :) thankyou in advance

  Is your wireless adapter turned on? Some laptops have a button which cuts the power to the wireless, and this may have been pressed without you realising (happens on our work HPs all the time) - there's often a light somewhere on the casing that indicates the status of this (on mine, blue means it's on, yellow means it's off).
