Is there a way to find out the password for a router?

  • I don't want to reset or change the password. I just want to find the password to my Linksys router.

    Short answer is no. However, it may not have a special password. You may have left it on the default.Get out the user guide or download it for your exact model from www.linksys.com in the support area. Follow the directions to use the default User and PW. You will probably get in that way. It often works better with a wired connection rather than wifi.

You need to find the IP adress of your router then your router homescreen will be displayed, if not look on the back of the router for codes.

There may or may not be a way to find out. That depends, among other things, on whether you mean the WEP/WPA password, of the logon password for the device itself. Bottom line, why not reset it? Unless, of course, we're actually NOT talking about YOUR router
