Why do my emails delete after reading them in Outlook 2003?

How can I get ALL emails on each of two PCs running Outlook 2003?

  • Home wireless network. Desktop and laptop. Both using Office 2003 wirh Windows 7. Setting up Outlook we cleared the "Delete msgs for server" block and we also set our email preferences with COMCAST to "hold" in-box for 30 days. It's now hit or miss with getting email message "A" on both machines. And nothing is being kept on the COMCAST server. IDeas?

  • Answer:

In Outlook you have to go to settings and Tick the "Leave a copy of mail on the Server" option. The reason you are getting a Hit or miss case is because when you use Outlook it downloads the mail from the Server & doesn't leave a copy on the Server,so if you first do a "Send/Receive" on Machine A then Machine B won't get that message,After you change the settings as above then a copy of email will be always there on the Server & you will have no issues in getting emails on both the computers... Hope that helps...
