Need help choosing a wireless router?

Ok desperately need help with my wireless network and my wireless router in my house?

Ok so i just bought a new HP desktop and with it i bought a linksys wireless-G USB adapter and everything was going ok until i followed the directions all the way up to where it said press the cisco systems button on the router. now i had another laptop that was already connected automatically to the old router but when i hit the cisco systems button for the USB adapter i guess it reset it or something now there is a new wireless router name and WPA key and everything and i didnt even make it up or anything. i need like some serious tech support. i tried to do the setup wizard on the laptop and said to make a new wireless network and everything but i dont know how to get it started. the wireless router is a cisco systems Wireless-G Broadband router with speed booster. I desperately need help.
