Is it a good idea to exchange links within your own domain network?

How do I get mail.domain.com to forward to domain.com/exchange?

  • RESOURCES: 1 Server 1 Public Server 2003 R2 IIS 6 Exchange 6.5.6944.0 DNS CONFING INFO: A Record domain.com | 76.112.*.* A Record *.domain.com | 76.112.*.* A Record mail.domain.com | 76.112.*.* A Record www.domain.com | 76.112.*.* MX Record | 76.112.*.* SSL CERT: Cert installed on default site required on the mail dir domain.com/exchange WHATS GOING ON: So I guess the real question is how do I create the sub domain mail.domain.com on my server and have it point to domain.com /exchange. The A Name record exists but it points to the IP address of my server. So if you type mail.domain.com into a browser my default site is displayed and not domain.com/exchange. I need to create a sub-domain (mail.domain.com) and have it point to directory (domain.com/exchange). Can anyone help...Thanks in advance :)

There's two ways to do what you're looking for, and I'm not sure which you're after. Do you want mail.domain.com to redirect the user to domain.com/exchange , or do you want the browser to still show the same address (mail.domain.com) but the server give out the same files as if you went to domain.com/exchange ? Either way, your DNS records are set up just fine, and the configuration will need to be done in the web server. I could tell you how to do it in Apache, but I have no experience with IIS, and do not intend to acquire any.
