How to fool an IP address Tracer into believing another IP address?

How do I set up an IP address on a switch?

  • I'm working with Cisco Packet Tracer and have a setup of a Server -> (fa0/1) Switch (fa1/1) -> (fa0/1) Router. I have set up the IP address on the server, I have setup the IP address on the Router. But the commands I'm using on the switch are not working. Commands I'm using en config t int fa0/1 ip address 200.200.200.2 255.255.255.0 And I get the following error: Switch(config-if)#ip address 200.200.200.2 255.255.255.224 ^ % Invalid input detected at '^' marker. (the ^ lines up with the text IP). Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

  • Answer:

sorry your ip addresses look sus unless you have posted wrong, been in networking for over 20 years and it makes no real sense to me, could be well wrong though. 4 octets and a subnet, bit drunk to be honest n bored
