Internet connected but unable to load Web pages?
-
Ok so 2 days ago the Internet was working fine and I tried using eBay to find the page wouldn't load, I thought nothing of it and decided to check the next day. Following day the Internet would not work at all, I reset my router numerous times with no results. I seeked help from a friend and system restored my computer 1 week back. After the roll back the net still didn't work but after a router reset the Internet worked and the small globe in the corner re appeared. The Internet worked fine for about 5 minutes and then died once again, but this time I could access facebook and runescape (yes, I'm sad) but no other sites would load even though the Internet was connected and clearly working as I was on some sites but not others. I called pipex and had a 30 minute help from them with no success, he told me my Internet is connected and should be working fine, but i still cannot load any pages. To simplify; all signals show my Internet is connected and working but I cannot load any sites, last night facebook would work but nothing else. I've turned off windows firewall, called my ISP and rolled back my computer 1 week. We have 2 xboxs' in the house and they also won't connect. All 3 systems are wireless and the router is a bt voyager 2100. Operating system windows vista. Any ideas? Sorry for the essay...

Answer:
I faced same problem. I was trying to open pages. But page was not loading. I was confused if my internet connection was okay. I checked and found connection was fine, Then i log in to Yahoo messenger. I could log in. One of friends told me that it is certain kind of virus that blocks my browser and even my anti-virus. I got AVG from another computer . Uninstalled my previous anti virus as it was also infected. Then installed AVG and after thorough scan virus could be removed. It was fine.
