  • i havea wifi printer and i have been disabeling wifi on laptop so it just connects to ...(lan? (the yellow cord with boath ends same)) it got annoying so... does having boath wifi and lan (local area connection) connected to 1 pc use double internet usage, and if it uses only one, which one would it use... i have noticed when having boath connected that the internet went from about 1mbps upload to about 600kbps...

  • Answer:

Any device will only use one connection. If you have both wireless and wired networking on a computer, only one will be used at any given time. You cannot specify which. I am not sure why you are having a problem. I too, have a wireless printer. I have wired and wireless computers on my network, and they can all print to the printer without having to jiggle cables. You just need to configure the printer to connect to your wireless network (I usually assign it a fixed IP address) and then configure each computer to print to it.
