How do you figure out what your IP Address is?

How do I figure out the IP Address and stuff so I can connect my ipod to my wifi. I have a Netgear router.?

  • My old router stopped working so my dad went and bought a new one. It works find and doesn't have a password or nothing on it. My ipod is saying that it's connected to my wifi but I don't know what to put in the places where it says IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, DNS, etc... so that the wifi will actually work on my ipod. How do I figure that stuff out??

  • Answer:

10.0.0.45 ip 255.255.255.0 DNS 10.0.0.1 as Default gateway

it sounds like you have selected advanced configuration or the non-dhcp settings. ip address, masks, and dns should be automatically assigned. verify you selected "dhcp." http://www.youtube.com/watch?src_vid=rt4Cs0iw0r4&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_664609&v=B5Yxh4ttP0c http://appleipodtouch.blogspot.com/2009/01/howto-connect-wifi-settings-ipodtouch.html

If it is a new NetGear it "WILL" have a pass code to access the wireless (WiFi) network. Somewhere on the router will be a white sticker with a number or numbers and letters on it. This the security key. You will have to enter this on the iPod settings for the WiFi. If someone setup the router and changed the security key you will have to ask whoever di it what the new key is.
