Why isn't my VGA cable working?

My ethernet cable isnt working?

  • i have had problems with xbox live connection for a while now. at first, on my 2wire router, it was perfectly fine. that broke, and i got a netgear router. that wireless didnt work no matter what i have tried. i then moved into the other room and connected with a 25-30ft ethernet cable. that worked. but i moved to the big tv, and bought a 75 ft ethernet cable and wired it all the way to the router. that is not working. what is wrong? why isnt this ethernet cable working? i tested the connection with one of those mini devices and it said it has an open connection. thanks a bunch!

i think the issue here is on the cable, ethernet cables has a minimum length for it to transmit quality data. The longer the cable the higher is the loss or poor signal.

The length is alright, guys. 75 feet it within spec (1 to 100 meters is the regulated length). It's true that reality and theory aren't always the same, but a 75-foot ethernet link isn't unheard of. What is that tester's interpretation of "open connection"? I'm thinking one of the end-points might need to be recrimped, or if available you might try replacing the cable to rule it out as a problem, but again the length isn't *terrible*.

The connections are probably still fine, 75 feet for an ether net in CRAZY!!! A code that long is going to lose ALOT of that signal to the point that the platform cant even pick up the signal, get closer or get a technician to move the modem closer to where you want it. Hope this helps!!!
