I want to connect desktop with laptop to share documents and printers, what type usb cable male to male?

My desktop is located in one room and the laptop is in another room 15 ft. apart. I want to be able to use the laptop to work on documents, photos, printers, etc. The desktop will remain on but I will shut the monitor to save energy. I believe the cable should be a USB M to M. but I do not know what type, I do not want to order a wrong one. Please I will appreciate it very much.

You'd be much better off using WiFi and a WiFi capable router.

You cannot connect two computers using a normal USB cable. You could use an USB Easy Transfer cable by Belkin for example, but that is also not intended for networking, only for transferring files. Purchase a cross linked network cable instead to connect the two computer together directly.
