Wireless Internet disconnects after sending video call?
-
I try having a video call though msn, skype, oovoo, and yahoo messenger but after about 2-10 seconds my wireless internet cuts off. I have 4-5 bars of internet says "excellent". I was wondering if there is something blocking it or what. Because I am in college and maybe that might be an issue? But the 8nternet works fine other than that i can surf the internet and chat just disconnects then reconnects right after sending call. And I am using a laptop, and when i go somewhere else on campus it works fine and works fine in other buildings as well.

Answer:
Confusing question. = You ARE trying to call thru your laptop [&& NO other device]? - Try making video calls at different locations [ON && OFF-campus]. = IF the problem occurs at ALL locations. problem is probably the laptop. - IF problem occurs consistently ON-campus [but NOT OFF-campus], probably network configuration [contact campus network admin]. - Certain locations ON-campus may not allow video [dorms, common areas]. [ Personal && privacy issues]

The access point to which your computer is connecting may be getting overloaded by all of the traffic you're sending through it. Either by design or flaw, its cutting you off. Try checking with the guys in charge of the internet access in that building to see if anyone else is having trouble.
