What is the moble network when u can call all the networks?

Why can't I get into my wireless network, I'm using the correct WEP key?

  • So over Thanksgiving, I went to my cousins house over 100 miles away from my house. I brought my Mac laptop, and I logged onto their wireless network. Their network was called "linksys" and so is mine at my house. Both networks are password protected. So when I got back from my cousins house I tried to log back into my network, and it wouldn't let me. I tried constantly to log on, and I am absolutely sure that I am using the correct password to log in. The problem is is that the laptop (remember the both networks were called "linksys") is remembering my cousins password, not mine. So when I try to log on, even if I type in my password, it won't let me on. How can I get the computer to forget my cousins password? I have called Apple and asked what they suggest. They had me go to "System Preferences" and then the the "Network" tab. They had me change the "Network Diagnostics" or something like that but the password doesn't work, even then. I have no idea what to do, my mom has said that we will go to the Apple store and talk to a "Genius" but I don't think that they will be able to help because a) they will not be able to access my network becuase it will be out of range b) i think that they will have me do the same thing as the coustmer service representative. My mom refuses to call the internet/cable company until we try the Apple store. If it helps I have Mac OS X 10.5.4

  • Answer:

I would change the name of your router to something else. Leaving it as the default name has always caused trouble for people. In Windows you can delete old WiFi connections you no longer use or put them in priority order. I don't know how it is done on a Mac. Is is possible to delete both the "linksys" connections and let your laptop rediscover your router?

Other answers

ok so liek the guy above me, the problem 1. to be sure change the name of the wireless ID. 2. if you have linksys try the ip 168.192.1.1 which wil obviously take you to the admin page. password is admin and so is username or only one of them is admin and other has nothing. Over there check your password under wireless>wireless security. If the password given on there doesnt work put in the one with a bunch of numbers that will often renew your ip, sometimes fixing the problem :]
