Help Increase Internet Connection Speed... Extra Points?

  • Heres my problem, Unfortunately for one more year i am stuck with bell sympatico and have to deal with there internet.. where i live they tell me that the fastest internet that i can get is 6mps, so that is what i have. The thing is i have two computers in my house and two xbox 360's both computers and one xbox is hooked up with a wires connection (ethernet cable) lately both computer internet has been very slow i have to let an half an hour video load for an hour just to watch it.. also when i play call of duty on either xbox i cant get no more an to bars. The internet for the computers havent always been like this but for the xbox's i always get terrible connection which really sucks. Im not really sure what to do at the point seeing that my mom locked us in a contract for another year and because of the region i live in (a small town in ontario, canada) i cannot get faster speed the only thing ive tried is restarting/ resetting the router.. thats all i can really thing of. If you have any suggestions to increase my internet speed whether it be buy a better router (which bells says that they gave us there best one) or get a network card it would be very much appreciated.

    delete stuff overloading your memmory it sped up my computer anything you dont need on your enternet

Try and user Google chrome Its light weight and fast you can get it for free from the following URL http://www.google.com/chrome 2. Download any good System Cleaner such as Reginout from Intel Software Directory (http://ibx.intel.com/directory/ ) to clear Browser history and cache because when the cache gets full, your browsing will slow down. 3. Make sure system is free of Mal wares and viruses use Avast free and Malware Bytes (FREE) 4. Sometimes your DNS server is not fast enough you can experiment with some third party DNS server Such as OpenDNS http://www.opendns.com. I tested this with two ISP connections found it very useful with One of them, didn’t get much difference in case of second ISP. 5. Always try and use a download manager. There are many free options available 6. Make sure your system firewall in enable and managed to stop unwanted internet traffic You can control access of programs to internet using windows Firewall
