Why can't my TI-84 Plus connect to my computer?

Verizon dsl, Just bought a new computer cant connect to my dsl?

I just bought a new computer with vista in it, I tried connecting it to my DSL wireless modem couldnt connect, the modem works good since my other computers are connected, my new computer found the network but I cant get online without the verizon software? I called verizon those mooks dont know sh*t they are sending me new software to connect to isp but there has to be a faster way, any help would be great

Do you have any mac or wep filtering on the router, make sure you disable every security on the router, then move the laptop right next to / close to the wifi router. Once you get connected you can re-enable all your security settings. you do not need any verizon software to help you connect to the wifi.
