How can I hook up my XBOX 360 live through my laptop?

I cannot get my laptop and xbox to both connect at the same time?

• i am trying to hook up my dell laptop and my xbox 360 to the internet at the same time via router.... i can get one or the other to come up but not both. i turn the laptop on first and can get on and do whatever but when i turn the xbox on it comes up saying that " your dns server cannot resolve the names of the xbox live server or xbox.com but if i shut down the lap top and restart the xbox it will come up and work fine

  1) Are you *sure* you have a router? (And not, for example, a modem and a switch.) 2) Are you *sure* you've connected your Internet access to the router's WAN or Internet port. (And not, for example, to one of its LAN ports.)
