there should be wifi settings on your phone. look for wifi connections in the area and the one from your modem should be first. just type in the password and you will be connected to your internet on your phone. You do have wifi in your house right? If not then i am not sure sorry

the usb modem is designed to link to the laptop only, you have two choices, you can either buy a router that accepts usb modem or if you want it cheaper. you can install some software called i think connectify this basically turns your laptop into a wifi router sharing the connection to any other device.
