How can i get a password to protect my wireless internet?

  • am using stc modem for internet. some of my neighbours using my net. i need to protect wireless system by passworld. pls not i have no manual for this modem. am connected the internet through cable. please help me to get a password...

Hi There, My suggestion would be to call your internet service provider and make arrangements for pass word protection. They will be the ones who have access to the router settings. Evidently when the router/modem was first installed the decision was made to leave it unsecured. Anyway that is the way I would approach the issue. Al

You can try entering this address in your internet browser: 192.168.0.1 If you come up with a log on screen, you have accessed your router but require a password to get past this. Look up your unit on the manufacturer's web site and see if there is a default access password. If you don't find one, leave a message with customer support asking for the default password for your wireless router.
