Connect W2K3 PC and Linux Box together AND Share Internet (not usual question)?
-
Here's what I have: 1 - Windows 2003 Server pc with 2 NICs - One NIC connected directly to the network. Other NIC connected to the Linux Box NIC with a crossover cat5 cable. 1 - Linux Box running Redhat with 1 NIC What I need to do: I need both pc's to be able to access the network/internet. NOW...If the windows PC loses network connectivity (this is the one directly connected to the network), I still want that windows pc to be able to connect to the linux box (via the crossover cable). Seems to sound easy, but I just can't seem to make it happen.

Answer:
You'll have to see if Win 2003 has the ability to act as a router without a special plug-in. I don't believe ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) is available on Win 2003. Why not just ditch Win 2003 and go with Red Hat. There's nothing 2003 can do that Red Hat cannot.
