How does a telephone work inside?

How the **** do I connect AIRLINK Router to a telephone high speed modem? SO IT WILL ACTUALLY WORK?

I just changed companies, Before I used to have a cable internet but now it picks up internet from the telephone jack, and I dont know how to change the garbage settings so it will work?! Can anyone please explain to me the steps? That would a great HELP!! ThANKS! P.s. I'm in Canada, so don't say AT&T!

• Answer:

  First connect your computer directly to the Modem. If it goes Online, good. Now without turning off anything unplug the Ethernet cord from the Modem(leaving it plugged in to the Computer) and plug the cord into the top port on the Router. Open IE. Type in 192.168.1.1 into the address bar. I don't know anything about Airlink Routers but this works with most. The user name is either user or admin and the password is admin or password.
