How can I speed up my wireless connection????

Connection speed fallen/How can I improve my connection speed?

  • Okay so basically I've recently been having this problem where my Router/Modem keeps losing connection and my internet goes from Local and Internet to Local only and then it'd go back online (Local and internet) and back offline again (Local only). That was an on-going problem for a couple of days, It stopped all of the sudden for some reason but now my internet speed is really bad, I don't know if its anything to due with my prior problem. My ping is 77ms, my download speed is 0.13 mbps (lol) and my upload speed is 0.29 mbps. I really don't know what to do, this seems like a unique problem and so I don't really know what to do (I'm averagely computer literate). There's no solutions I can find online, or its just me being stupid. I've tried the simple stuff like restarting my PC, the Modem, changing Modems and I've tried updating my Wireless Adapter drivers, changing the power plan, unchecking the Ipv6 box, I'm really stuck on what to do here... It's taking me 10 minutes to download a 9.5mb file. If you need any other information just ask, I really don't know what to do and it'd be great if I could find a solution to this :D

    Are you using a wireless connection, then several things can affect it such as radio interference from nearby devices working on similar frequences, or just the physical placement of the router and computer etc. Here is a good link for sorting such things out; http://www.microsoft.com/athome/setup/wirelesstips.aspx Read the lot, but have a read of items 7&6 in that order first. A read of that should help you better than any answer on here. If it does not help then ask your internet supplier for guidance. Regards, Bert.
