How to connect my Sky box the router when I only have 1 socket in another room?
-
Hi there, I only have one telephone socket in my house (in the kitchen) where the router is plugged into. Is there a simple step I can take to get the Sky box in the living room hooked up too? I've seen regular plugs that convert a normal socket to a phone socket but don't know what they're called, or if they'd be suitable? Thank you

Answer:
They are NOT a good option, they are unreliable and can cause interference with broadband. You need to run an extension from the existing socket to the other room. You can buy kits to do this. Or if you can see where the line enters the building you normally have an internal junction box. You can carefully run the extension from there to the correct position. But you MUST fit a DSL filter to every socket you want to use as well as the router one.
