How do I get a wireless router on WII?

The cheapest way to get internet on Wii with wired connection and a Wireless router?

  • Ok I have a wired internet connection and I want to know if its possible to connect a wirless router to a wired router(modem) so I can get Nintendo Wi-Fi but Does it in any way destroy my Internet Bills?

  • Answer:

This will work perfectly. As for whether it will change your bill or not, the answer is no. Your ISP won't even know that you own a wireless router. Despite what your ISP may tell you, you do *not* have to pay anything extra for using a wireless router. That's something that telekoms often do to strangle money out of uninformed customers; they tell you that your service will be cut off if you use any type of router to give Internet access to more than a single device, but they never actually do this. It is technically possible, since they could come up with a simple list to correlate client MAC addresses with customers and if there are too many different MAC addresses coming from a certain customer's connection, they shut off his or her Internet access. They don't do this though, presumably since no telekom is actually that evil (and because even the telekom has to admit that NICs *do* die and people have to replace them). They threaten to do it all the time to get money out of people who are scared and don't know any better, but don't worry, since even if you use the router, nothing bad will happen, even if your ISP says you have to pay them such-and-such an additional charge per month or your service will be terminated. It's an archaic practice that dates back to the days of dial-up, and many telekoms no longer use this type of scare-tactic to exploit their customers.

Nope. Just follow the instructions to setup the router, then hook it up to the modem, and allow it to broadcast wirelessly! Now your laptops and your Wii can hook up to the Internet! Your Internet bills is for having the service to your modem, so it should not make any additional fees. Well, the fee would be buying the router, right?
