Where is the wifi network name located on router?

  • my stepdad had a iphone and hes not using it anymore because he gotregular phone so im going to use his iphone. but i want to add wifi at home so i can use the internet on his iphone. it dont got a SIM card so its like an ipod now. but i dontknow how to get the network name when it asks for it on iphone. i have att internet and have a box router but theirss so many numbers in the back of it but i dont now how to get the number the iphone needs to get it working. what number do i need?how does an wifi number look like.i want wifi at home

Ok look.. you can see the wifi in your house by going into your iphone-->system preferences(gray gears)-->wifi... and it will automatically search for any wifi in your house... if you dont see one, there are 2 cases 1. there is no wifi in your house, maybe asking your mom or stepdad to buy a "modem" that makes wifi. 2. your iphone is too far away from the wifi.

The network name is not located anywhere on the router. It is called an SSID and when the router was installed and setup whoever did that selected a SSID which is the network name. The default SSID for many linksys routers are "linksys" until the user creates their network name(SSID) Therefore if your stepdad set it up you need to ask him what SSID he chose and if the SSID is set to broadcast then your iphone should be able to automatically detect the network all you will need is the "key" or password
