Where to buy electric bell used at temple?

Can a Bell Can. 2wire Gateway modem be used with a local DSL provider?

  • I'm currently using Bell internet and wanted to switch to a particular local provider that provides a 5 Mb connection with no usage cap. I currently have a 6 Mb plan with a 25GB/Month cap and an additional insurance of 40GB which allows me a cap of 65GB. I like watching a lot of online TV shows and Youtube videos which means that I'm checking my usage all the time in order to stay on pace. Otherwise, I would either use up my cap before the end of billing period and would have to face additional usage fees. I could buy another 5/month insurance to go up to 105GB but it would only run up my bill that much more. Bell also had me purchase my modem instead of paying 5.00 more a month for the modem rental. Would I be able to use this modem on the other DSL provider so that I won't have to pay add-on fees to just be able to have a high enough usage limit that would prevent usage fees?

  • Answer:

Every provider has their own list of what they will or won't support, so you will have to ask your local provider if they support your modem. If they support your modem type, you may have to install their firmware into the modem to get it to work with them.
