How do i connect my computer to my ps3 through my wireless router?

I have movies saved on my computer and would like to play them through my PS3 onto my TV. Is there an easy way to do this through the wireless router or do I have to physically connect my PC to my PS3. My PS3 is a big old phat one.

It's really easy if you just save the movies on a usb or external hardrive and plug it straight into the ps3 usb.

I installed the free media server software TVersity on my computer and my videos showed up automatically on my PS3. Please note that not all video formats are played by the PS3 so TVersity will try to transcode them on the fly, see additional details on source link below.
