How to play on minecraft server at school?

  • I am trying to play my minecraft server (hosted at home) from school but when I click multi player I can see my server and it says online but when I click join it won't let me. Also at the start (when logging in) it says can't connect to internet, |Try again| |Play Offline| I am using the schools internet. It works perfectly on my own internet. I don't know what the school has done because the port can't be blocked can it because I can see my server? The application can't be fire walled can it because it has to connect to internet to see my server? I am NOT trying to play at school, everyday my brothers and sisters have a fitness class after school and I am trying to play then because I'm to old to do the class and it's 1 hour long. I might just have to ask the schools I.T. department to see what they've done because I'm dumbfounded. Please help as this is my favourite game and I don't have any other good ones to play. thanks in advanced, Jabelone.

    get proxy bypass or VPN. your school network probably blocked minecraft. feel free to come to my server gomc.tk :)
