How do I connect laptop to internet?

My hp g60 laptop wont connect with any networks and wont connect to the internet, how do i fix it?

• my laptop wont connect with any networks anymore either wifi or ethernet cable. i didnt use my laptop for two weeks because i canceled my internet service provider verizon and swtiched to clear. my home pc works fine and its connected and has internet and it connects with my xbox wifi and goes to xbox live still. but my laptop wont connect properly when i go to wireless network connection status under activity it says over a thousand bytes sent but 0 received. and in network and sharing center it has my laptop pc connected to an unidentified network and than an X in red not connected to the internet. but it says on connection under access Wireless Network Connection. and sometimes it says limited activity but i still cant get on the internet, how do i fix it? i already restet my modem adapter a bunch a times but it still says the same thing. my laptop is kinda four or five years old an hp G60. it didnt do anything to it but it used to connect with other wifi hotspots but not anymore. where can i take it and who and i ask to fix it and get a simple solution? PLEASE HELP! I need my laptop. and i cant afford a new one.

  The best thing for you to do is take your laptop to the nearest best buy and have them check out your laptop, or usually service providers usually will be willing to sent I.T.s to help you out in order to keep your business.
