Has Anyone Else Done this..?

Has anyone else done this? Could you propose advice?

I am intending on acquiring an account on one of those free web hosting websites and placing a server on it which would connect to IRC and allow connections to it (password protected, of course...) as to allow me to connect to it in order that I connect to IRC, so basically I could idle all day without being online. Has anyone else done this? Are there any programs for what I'm looking for already made (as to save me a significient amount of trouble...) and could you recommend any free hosting websites that would allow this? =) Thanks

First of all... Will the Free site provide you with enough bandwidth to do what you want. Second do you have a dynamic or static IP on your end. and finally how reputable is the Free Host?
