How fast is the average internet speed?

I am running about 24 to 25 mbps download and about 4 to 5 in upload when cabled in and much less in wireless, but still OK. I changed to a CAT6 ethernet cable which doesn't cost much more and did replace my wireless router-splitter when I found the old one dragging on my new Win7 laptop. I pay about $80 a month for internet basic phone+very high internet combined. A good simple speed test is http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ There are more detailed tests for free on the web also. on AT+T http://www.att.com/speedtest/ showed only 11.5 + 5 It comes in different depending on the server and additional software used. Check your provider and they may be able to start at one speed and upgrade at only a monthly price changewith no service charge. Also, bundling services sometimes discounts.

Your question is the same as: How old is the average person? That's kind of a hard question to answer, huh? For the internet speed, it kind of depends on where you live and what's available to you. Some people don't have access at all... However, for a 16/7 Mbps plan, $110 is a bit steep...
