How do I share large files?

How can i share large files with my family overseas?

  • Hi, I want to be able to share large files of home movies & photos with my family overseas without having to mail them a memory stick every few months, i was wondering if there are any solutions like a website or similar where we can all log on with a password and share this stuff privately? A friend of mine suggested Dropbox and a few other sites but i am unsure and thought i would branch out and get a few different opinions!

    what about this one http://fyels.com/ btw, to send large files, you need fast internet for you and your family,. another solution is http://sendoid.com/ but that requires both of you to be online at the same time. btw, dropbox is quite a good solution, but i'm not sure if there's a file size limit

Drop box has a 2 Gig limit. Facebook may be too public. There are also picture services like Picasa (Google owns that). Google plus requires invites but while they mine your data to improve your searches, they won't blab it unless you want them too. Like Facebook, you can upload pictures. You would create a family circle. Some online mail services are also starting to get in to the file storage area because it is VASTLY better to send a link and a file size rather than a gigantic file via email.
