I have that same computer - there's a wireless on/off switch on the front left side about 3 inches from the left edge of the computer. Push it all the way to the right and it'll turn on the wireless (the orange light turns blue) - I tend to 'bump' mine off almost every time I put the computer on my lap. Otherwise I'd suspect it's a problem with the router, not the computer. Factory restore will erase all your files (you know that by now though) but re-installs ALL the drivers so it wouldn't be a driver issue. The only other thing I can suggest is calling HP.

I suggest check the button around your keyboard for a wireless on/off button, yiou might have accidentally press it and turn of your wireless card, refer to the manual if you can't find it. More computer tips at http://www.review-ninja.com

Try reinstalling the software. Take it completely off, then restart your computer and reinstall the software.
