What Ethernet Cable Should I Use?

Can I use my wireless printer through router even though I connect my PC to modem through ethernet cable?

  • Hi, I bought a printer today only to discover that it did not come with a USB cable in which I could connect it to my PC. I have a virgin media wireless HUB which I use to connect my PC to the internet BUT I do not use the wireless on it because my PC does not have the hardware to support this. Instead, my computer is connected to the virgin HUB with an ethernet cable. What I would like to know is, is there a way to connect my printer to my computer wirelessly using the wireless router and ethernet cable? Printer~Wireless~Router-Ethernet cable-PC Thanks for any answers Andy.

  • Answer:

Yes it is very possible. However you may have to do some research. First either use th cd that came with the printer or go online to download the driver to the printer onto your pc. Then you should be able to connect it through that router. You will have to set up a home network through Start->my networks->set up a home or office network, then you should be able to connect the pc. Though you may have a network already because I think you said you had a router. Hope this helps.
