How to connect ps2 with the Internet?

How can I connect my PC and PS2 to the internet over Ethernet if my wireless router only has 1 port?

  • Hi there, I am investigating taking my ps2 online as my brother is giving me his ethernet card for the ps2 (I have an old fat one) and so I wanted to try and get it online as its free. However my wireless router only has 1 ethernet port. Is there a splitter or something I can get that will just allow me to connect two things to it at once. Please bear in mind that I would like to have them online together so would it be best to just bite the bullet and get a small ethernet hub? Thanks Antony

    Post MAKE && MODEL of wireless router. ONE Ethernet port ? ? = Post MAKE && MODEL of broadband (DSL/cable) modem. = IF the Ethernet port on your wireless router connects to your broadband modem, you cannot connect any additional Ethernet Devices. -

Are you sure it's a wireless router and not an access point? What do you connect it to? A modem or a router?

I can tell from your explanation that what you have is a modem, the standard modems that companies provide you only allow one connection (why you only have one ethernet port). You usually have to request before if you wanted something different. However don't worry about it, it's an easy fix. You can either buy a new modem/router that has SEVERAL ports or you can just go by you a Belkin or D-Link, I personally would stay away from the Linksys brand as their product is not as good as it once was (and for those who say but Cisco owns them now, yes they do OWN them but they don't manufacture the brand). Once you get your SWITCH do not buy a HUB (if you can even get them anymore), just run the ethernet from your modem into the switch and your devices.
