Will this Ethernet cable connect from my computer to xbox 360?

Xbox 360 can't connect?

  • I just got an Xbox 360 and was attempting to connect it the internet via Ethernet cable. My internet is working perfectly on my computer, but my 360 will not connect. I used an ethernet cable and plugged it into my 360 and an ethernet jack. Does any one know what the problem is? Could it be that the jack does not recive a signal?

    Another solution is to find out how to set your 360 in the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) of your router. It allows your 360. This make it so the router settings/port blocking does not affect how your 360 is connecting. this happened to me... if your router has a built it firewall try to turn it off.

Firewall can block the connection. If you are located on a college campus, you need to have your own router.

Your best bet is to input your network information yourself by doing so you can manually type in your default getway and ip address. If your not sure just give Mircosoft a call on the back of the xbox and they can walk you through on how to get off that information and put into your xbox settings. But you can just to do it your self by going to your pc then run type in cmd then ipconfig/all this will give you all the info that you will need to input onto the manual con nections within the xbox config menu.
