How to set up a wireless wireless internet connection?

How do you set up a wireless internet connection over Windows XP when you don't have internet to begin with?

  • I have a Macbook Pro and I'm trying to complete the Bootcamp process. Unfortunately, I don't have Service Pack 2 so I'm stuck at this point. I can't connect to the internet with cables because it's Macintosh hardware and most of it doesn't work with Windows. If I could just hook up a wireless connection, however, I could upgrade the OS and finally (after three days straight of trying to fix it up) finish it. Help would be appreciated.

  • Answer:

can you take your laptop to a friend's house who has a wireless router set up? your wireless adapter should be able to see the network... or if you aren't worried about security too much just for the sp2 download, you can go to a public place that has wifi...

Does your computer have a wireless card installed? It must in order to connect via wireless. And if you don't subscribe to wireless service, you might get lucky and piggyback off of someone's service if they did NOT secure their network. Good Luck.....
