That isn't technically something you're supposed to have control over. Here are some things to try: 1. Release and renew your DHCP. This might be under some kind of WAN page. 2. Change the router's MAC address, and then release and renew again. Many routers have a setting to mirror mac addresses, which should do it for you. You might lose your internet, in which case you will need to call up Comcast and let them know your mac address changed (maybe you bought a new router) and they will gladly fix it. 3. Wait a few months, and try the above again. Consumer IP addresses tend to change sporadically. 4. Call Comcast and see if they will assign you a new IP. (Maybe whoever last had the one you have did something bad with it -- got it banned from something important, or you're getting hammered by network attacks) Keep your router set to a dynamic IP address. You could try copying your assigned IP into a static IP address field and changing the last most number slightly, but that's unlikely to work and might get Comcast upset if they notice. An easier alternative to block websites from seeing your ip is to use an anonymous means of browsing the internet, such as Tor, which is free and does this for you easily. This has nothing to do with your router. Your ISP allocates you an ip address that changes when you switch off your router for a while and switch it back on. Your ISP has a range of ip addresses that it allocates to its customers in your area. You cannot influence what ip address you get. You can't. "Your" IP address is assigned you by your Internet Service Provider, who really owns it. If you changed it at your end, your ISP would literally not talk to you until you changed it back or it assigned you another of its own. Furthermore, you couldn't just pick an IP address at random and start using it because it might already be assigned to someone else on your ISP's network. Who would receive who's Web pages?
