How do I fix a Windows 7 connection problem?

I have a sony VAIO laptop and it works great. However a few months ago, while at home, instead of using wireless internet, I started using cable internet. The problem came when I tried using wireless again. I turned wireless connectivity on and it didn't detect any networks, however when I tried accessing firefox, the internet was working at full speed and I was watching youtube videos just fine. I don't know what is wrong here, troubleshooter tool doesn't help and I still have the problem. Tonight I tried using wireless again and now I just wasn't able to. On top of not detecting any connections, the internet doesn't work. It works, as it is as I write this, when I plug in cable internet, however even with it connected, the network sharing center does not display any connections available or that my computer is even connected. I need help quick. I opened device manager and found a network device not function it. It had an error that said Code 10. I uninstalled it, so probably that is the reason wireless doesn't work now. I can't install it back. Please someone help!

you will need to go to the sony site and download the driver you deleted and install it, then your wireless should work again
