Is 4G faster than WI-Fi?

Can I exchange my iPad 3 wifi for a wifi+4G one?

• So I pre-ordered my 3rd generation iPad with wifi only online on the apple store. I got the wifi one only because I have wifi in my house. And I assumed wifi was pretty much everywhere I go. WRONG! Most places I go to doesn't have wifi. I mean it's fine if I go to Mcdonald's, Starbucks, etc. But everywhere else there's no free wifi. I do have an iPhone4 and I know we can always tether, but I don't know what's better....adding to my existing data plan for iPhone or just getting a separate data plan for my iPad So after thinking and reading stuff online, I think I want to get the new iPad w/ wifi+4G with AT&T. At least with the Wifi and 4G model I can always cancel my data plan whenever without penalty. My question is: Can I exchange my wifi iPad for a 4G one and just pay the difference?

  As Dhruv said, you'll have to cancel the previous order and create a new one. However, if you already have the iPhone 4, so as my experience allows, it's about $15-20 per month to have that 3G hotspot coming from your phone, and my father has an iPad 2 with 3G capability and he pays $25 a month for just that device. With the iPhones hotspot, you'd have 5 connections to work through it. Plus if you're planning on getting the iPhone 5 like I am, you'll get 4G LTE access for those 5 devices. Just some more background info you might like to know before making any decisions. (because the iPad with (4G access now) will also be an extra $130 plus tax just to have the 4G, then the $25 a month to actually use it) Hope this helped. ^_^
