Can't connect to wifi with ds lite?

Im trying to connect to wifi through my ds lite but it wont let me i think it is because of the passcode lock on the Internet how do I put the passcode on my ds to get the connection

If you have AT&T type of wifi you can't join. Ask your parents for the pass code help.
