Network wireless laptop?

Problems with the wireless network adapter on my laptop?

  • Ok, lets get this out of the way, I have an HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop using WIndows Vista. My family just moved and we're trying to setup a wireless router, only my laptop says it doesn't have a wireless network adapter. Before we moved the wireless network adapter was working fine. I'm wondering if it got deleted. It doesn't show up when I go to Control Panel>System and Maintenance>Device Manager>Network Adapters. The only thing that shows up is the ethernet connection, which is what i'm connected to now. My laptop doesn't detect any wireless networks, but my other laptop does, so I know there's something wrong this one. How do I fix this? Is the wireless network card thing that came with my laptop loose? Should I buy a wireless network adapter and install it (and any recommendations on which brand I should get)? Thank you very much, for any suggestions.

  • Answer:

you can go to your empowering technology bar and make sure its turn on because if it not turn on that can prevent your loptop from picking up wireless networks.
