Is 1mb broadband enough to speak and listen live on messenger and skype without interrptions or quality issues?
-
Hi, I would like to telework. In order to do this I need to be able to listen live in the office and speak just as if I were there. I was thinking of using messenger to be live (seen it used like this before) and skype for phone calls. I will also be connecting to the office network to access files, get emails, is 1mb broadband enough to enable me to do this?

Answer:
No it wont, you will get very bad time lags. If that is the maximum speed you can expect or what you are paying for, you can halve that straight away. For voice you want at least a constant 2 Mb/s connection speed. Connecting to the office will be very slow as well. It will be like working with Dial Up.

Yes it should be fine however be mindful if you are on a wireless network and are sharing with other users. If it is direct connection it should be completely fine!

Should do fine, but there is no guarantee. I have 8Mb/s connection and still have some issues sometimes using video call on skype. I have cable connection , but there is a thing called aggregation on dsl. U should google about it if U like.

Shouldn't be a problem. Audio on messenger and skype will be maximum of 64Kbps probably and your connection is way above that. (1024Kbps) It will also be fine for getting files and emails from an office connection. Obviously a faster connection would be faster - but yours will work.
