Can I change my IP address daily?

Can I change my IP address by switching providers?

  • I'm blocked from some websites through my current, static broadband IP address. I don't want to use a proxy server. I've been searching online, and many people say you can't change the IP address others online will see. Well can't I just change my provider? If my current IP and ISP address is blocked by websites, and I have comcast, can't I just switch to AT&T, and have a new IP and ISP address? I was thinking about making the switch anyway, since AT&T is cheaper where I live.

  • Answer:

Switching providers would give you a new IP address but it seems like an extreme move just to access sites you've been blocked from. A different ISP may not be better than what you have now.

Yeah they should change your ip, address...even if you just buy a new modem it will change it

Yah, you can do it -- each ISP has groups of IP addresses that they own -- but on a related note, I expect there was a very good reason for blocking your IP, probably something you did. Therefore, I suggest you improve your behavior, else-wise you'll just get blocked again.

If you change your ISP your IP address will be definitive changed. You can always check out what is your IP address right now and after you switch to another ISP with IP trackers: http://www.ipaddresslocation.org http://www.find-ip-address.org http://www.ip-address.org Hope this helps!

yes, it would be best to do so...

1. Look into a computer education, it will get you somewhere in life. 2. Change your IP Address from Static to Dynamic. - As you don't know much about IP Addresses based on the simplicity of your question, I would assume you do not know how to do that. Well... It's quite simple, but I don't know what kind of router you have, so go to google and search "how to change your IP address from static to dynamic". Not only that, but what you CAN change it to for your computer, because if you don't know what you're doing, then you'll lose internet until you change it to an applicable IP Address OR back to Static since you don't know what you're doing. 3. Don't get banned from websites... If it's a website that you put an age under 18 and you have to be 18 to look at it, stop looking at porn or delete your internet's cache memory. 4. If you're a kid and your parents blocked it... just use a proxy for god sakes. 5. Don't change your ISP... that's the stupidest thing to do, because your IP address will be the same if it's still Static. 6. Sorry for being blunt, but this is all the truth. 7. Good day! 8. Hope this helps!

Each ISP is allocated one or more blocks of IP addresses. You CAN switch ISPs to change your IP, but most likely you're using a dynamically allocated IP, which can make this easier. If I want to change my IP but keep my ISP, I unplug the router from the Internet. Then I leave it unplugged until the DHCP times out. (Your router should have a Web interface to tell you all this.) Once the time has elapsed, I plug it back in, and I usually have a new IP. Avoid Web proxies, particularly the free ones. However, paid VPN services (VPNtunnel, SwissVPN, etc.) are trustworthy. Worst case scenario, anyway.
