Is there an online OS simulator?

Will a Dual Core 1.8ghz work well for Flight Simulator X?

  • Can a Dual Core 1.8 ghz processor work well with Flight Simulator X? I had a laptop before that had a core 2 duo @ 1.6 ghz and it worked well with Flight Simulator X with Vista OS and 3 gb of RAM. I lost the laptop and now have a new laptop with Windows Vista OS, 3 GB RAM, DirectX 11 and a dual core 1.8 ghz processor. They fixed it at the shop but I'm wondering what would be the difference between my old 1.6 ghz core 2 duo and my new 1.8 ghz dual core and would the performance difference be big? Thanks a lot!

  • Answer:

try and see? i dont think you would see much of a boost at all thu, depends if the cpu is what limits it or the gpu

System requirements 1.0 GHz CPU 256 MB RAM (for Windows XP SP2) or 512 MB RAM (for Windows Vista) 14 GB hard drive space (15 GB for Deluxe Version) DVD drive 32 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible video card 1024 x 720 screen resolution or higher[1] Between 1.6 and 1.8, 1.8/1.6 = 1.125, 1.125/2=0.5625, .5625/100=.005%. If only one core is used. It doesn't require a dual core. So, it would only use one core of the 1.8. The speed increase would only be .005%. Infinitesimal at best.
