I have no sound on my computer.

My computer's sound does not work..someone help please?

  • i have windows xp pc and the sound was working fine but then the next day the sound icon and the sound itself was gone...this has happened before but it never took this long for it to come back and i dont know what to do..someone help please and thank you advance.

    Go to your computer manufacturer's website i.e dell, lenovo, hp etc. and look for the download drivers hyperlink and click that and look for a sound driver and download that and set it up by double clicking it and what not, the basic installation procedures. and it should ask you to restart or something then you should be set

Hmm. The sound card's driver may be the problem. Check the icon in your computer's control panel>device manager. If there's an asterisk symbol or question mark, the settings may be corrupted, try to remove it by right-clicking it and click remove and then click UPDATE or REFRESH to have the OS recheck itself, the program will then guide you along the way in reinstalling the driver. Hope this works ;-)
